The funding and delivery of infrastructure forms a key part of planning for local communities. Providing the correct infrastructure in the right place at the right time supports the continued delivery of new homes and jobs throughout New South Wales.
In 2020 we committed over $265 million across 125 projects and 9 grant programs. The State Planning Agreements, Special Infrastructure Contributions, Accelerated Infrastructure Fund, Housing Acceleration Fund, Low Cost Loans Initiative, Metropolitan Greenspace Program, Precinct Support Scheme, Parramatta Road Urban Amenity Improvement Program and Streets as Shared Spaces Program helped progress:

In addition, in August this year, the NSW Government launched the $250m Public Spaces Legacy Program, which will support thousands of construction jobs, accelerate the planning system, and deliver dozens of new and upgraded open and public spaces across the State by 2022.

The department collects infrastructure contributions within designated areas to help fund the delivery of key metro and regional infrastructure.
The Accelerated Infrastructure Fund provides $75.9 million to support the delivery of vital new community infrastructure in high growth areas of Blacktown and The Hills Local Government Areas in North West Sydney.

A $1.26 billion fund reserved for the delivery of infrastructure that accelerates the delivery of new housing across NSW.
A grants scheme to support local councils in the delivery of essential local infrastructure throughout New South Wales.
A grant scheme available to councils across NSW, that pays 50% of the interest for loans relating to infrastructure that supports new housing development.
The program commits grant funding to local councils in Greater Sydney and the Central Coast for projects that improve and increase access to regionally significant open space.
A $198 million initiative to help upgrade public spaces and active transport links in the areas surrounding the Parramatta Road Corridor.
A $100 million scheme to assist councils in the delivery of local open space infrastructure within Planned Precincts.
